I am writing on behalf of the members of 350 Massachusetts for a Better Future. 350 Mass is
building a powerful statewide social movement to confront the climate crisis, hold our politicians
accountable and undermine the destructive influence of the fossil fuel industry. We have 10 active
chapters across the state with hundreds of members, and we are connected to an international
network of climate action groups. For the past two years, we have been working on fossil fuel
divestment, carbon pricing, and replacing fossil fuel infrastructure with renewable energy
projects that will bring jobs and clean power to our state for years to come.

We want to thank DOER for developing a next generation solar program - this is a great first step
towards clean energy for all. We want to express our explicit support for incentives for low-
income shared solar programs. The DOER should be boosting incentives for a wide variety of solar
projects that are accessible to all residents of Massachusetts, but a special emphasis should be
placed on making solar available to Environmental Justice communities, as these are the
populations that suffer disproportionate effects from pollution and climate change.
